By the year 2000 the population is expected to be twice that
of 1970. To satisfy future needs for industrial and municipal water, El
Paso County will have to rely primarily on increased water importation, reuse
of water, and increased use of ground water principally from the Dawson
aquifer, according to a recent report prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey,
Department of the Interior, published by the Colorado Hater Conservation Board.

The report, "Water resources of El Paso County, Colorado," by
Russell K. Livingston, John M. Klein, and Donald L. Bingham, was prepared
in cooperation with the City of Colorado Springs, EI Paso County Board of
Commissioners, Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, and the U.S. Air Force
Academy. The 8s-page report, complete with detailed colored illustrations of
the hydrology and geology, describes the hydrologic cycle, the surface-water
resources, the chemical quality of surface water, and the occurrence and quality
of ground water.

,.i~i!lt.
~i~ .t~

,.O,-UT10>\t

<C-<<;~~0
~ '%
CS ...
_ m
(!, Z
~ i!
"/- ~
1;>;>6_191'" e
