.....
N
--l
10-'

:~~i~ -

Mr. E. G. Bywater
page 2

There is, however, no adequate information about the other
areas involved in the project. A cultural survey of the
Grand Valley is necessary. Mr. James KYle, Land Use Admin-
istrator of Mesa County, 540 White Avenue, Grand Junction,
Colorado 81501, is beginning a survey of historical sites
and he could be contacted for information of that region.
other areas, such as the Glenwood-Dotsero Springs unit, the
desalt plant and pond east of Newcastle and the Lower
Gunnison Basin unit also need cultural surveys of both his-
torical and archaeological resources. When we have received
the information needed from these areas, we will be able to
assess the impacts of your project upon our cultural re-
sources.

If we can be of further assistance or if a meeting would be
helpful, please contact us. Thank you for your cooperation.

FOR THE STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER

Sincerely,

, Edwa~4~

tor, Buildings and Sites

;~f~~

Louis wall
Philip Schmuck
Bruce Rippeteau

152

~;:'<'~':.
-. ~ ~-'; "!"-;
.:~.~:::}~
