PAFF, ADMINISTRATOR <br />May 4, 1976 <br /> <br />********* <br /> <br />The Nevada Division of Colorado River Resources has <br /> <br />participated in the development and consideration of programs <br />to control and reduce the salinity of the Colorado ,River. <br /> <br />Prompt and favorable action on the proJects authorized for <br /> <br />construction and study in the Colorado River ~asin Sali~ity <br />Control Act (Public Lal-l 93-320) is consistent \dth Water Quality <br /> <br />Standards for Salir~ity, Including Numeric Crite,::ia and Plan of <br />Implementation for Salinity Control for c,he colorado River System, <br /> <br />adopted by Nev2da. <br /> <br />In Governor O'Callaghan's April 1, 1976 testimony to the <br /> <br />House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees, he stated: <br /> <br />"I urge that the Bureau of Reclamation be funded <br /> <br />up to their maximum capability of $800,000 for the <br /> <br />Las Vegas Wash Unit in Fiscal Year 1977, and that the <br /> <br />conunittee favorably consider funding of the other <br /> <br />.three authorized projects and programs und(lr Title II <br /> <br />of P.L. 9],,-320." <br /> <br />175 <br />
