<br />4. Mr. F, C. Merriell was asked for information on the status of the
<br />memorandum on requirements for gaging stations (paragraph 6(a) minutes of
<br />last meeting). ~~. 11erriell replied that due to the press of other work
<br />it will not be possible for him to prepare the memorandum for several months.
<br />He informed the committee that, during the interim operation period, prior
<br />to completion of the Granby Reservoir, he is willing to use the discharge
<br />records of the Adams Tunnel as the criteria for replacement. Hr. Merriell
<br />stated, further, that it is his intention to discuss in his memo the entire
<br />problem of \Jestern Slope River Administration as controll'ed by State Laws,
<br />the Colorado River Compact, and Senate Document 80.

<br />5. ~~. J. H, Knights stated that the Bureau of Reclamation is giving
<br />consideration to the possibility of augmenting the water supply for the
<br />Colorado-Big Thompson Project by diversion of Ranch Creek 'and other trib-
<br />utaries of the Fraser River to the Granby Reservoir.' In connection with
<br />the possibility of this diversion and supplementary thereto, consideration
<br />is being given also to the possibility of collecting and ,diverting water
<br />from tributaries of the \iilliams River to the Fraser and Ranch Creek system
<br />and thence to the Granby Reservoir.

<br />6. Mr. Knights informed the committee that gaging stations were
<br />established recently on Piney Creek below Piney Lake and on Homestake Creek
<br />near Gold Park. The purpose of these stations is to secure more accurate
<br />information on the runoff available at the site of the collection conduit.

<br />of the committee copies of a report dated October 15, 1947, subject,
<br />"Reconnaissance study of ','filliams River and Eagle River Basins - Blue-South
<br />Platte Project." A copy of the report is attached hereto as part of these

<br />9. It was agreed by the SteerinG Committee, for the purpose of the
<br />interim report on the Blue-South Platte Project, that allowances be made
<br />for the use of Williams River water to irrigate 18,000 acres in Western
<br />Colorado, involving an estimated net annual demand of 45,500 acre-feet as
<br />sho,m in paragraph 5 of the Jex-Kniehts report to the Steering Committee.
