This type of station is one at which daily samples Are taken from the stream. Analysis of daily samples is made by making a composite sample of 10 consecutive days or less. The composite sample is prepared by mixing the individual daily samples in proportion to the instantaneous or mean daily discharge at the time the sample was taken, rather than the mixing of equal parts of the individual samples. No Type "A" sampling stations are requested for Fiscal Year 1973. "Sampling Type B." A Type B station is for periodic sampling. Samples of this type should be taken by the hydrographer each time he visits the station to make a discharge measurement. All samples obtained should not be analyzed.
