The projected annual depletion for the
period 1990-2000 would be an additional 39,900 acre-feet (49 x 106m3) for
a total 153,000 acre-feet (189 x 106m3) by the year 2000. The above de-
pletions are based on the assumption that the Southern Nevada Water Project
will pump from Lake Mead 102,000 acre-feet (126 x 106m3) in 1980, 171,000
acre-feet (211 x 106m3) in 1990, 236,000 acre-feet (291 x 106m3) in
year 2000 and 313,000 acre-feet (386 x 106m3) in year 2G10. The 299,9(,0
acre-feet (369 x 106m3) of pumpage is projected to occur in 2019, accord-
ing to the Nevada Division of Colorado River Resources.

Harry Allen Powerplant. The Harry Allen Powerplant, a segment of
the Allen-Warner Valley Energy System, is a 2000 megawatt steam powerplant
that will be located at Dry Lake northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. Initially
Nevada Power would receive 285 megawatts of power from the plant with
the remainder transported to the southern California area. The plant
will require about 27,500 acre-feet (33.9 x 106m3) of cooling water
per year which it will obtain from the advanced wastewater treatment
plant. The coal fired powerplant will burn approximately 24,000 tons
(21 800 t) per day. The construction of the powerplant is scheduled for
completion by 1990.

Other Nevada Projects. The Southern ~evada Water Project, Harry
Allen Powerplant and other systems estimated net annual depletion would be
286,500 acre-feet (353 x 106m3) of the 300,000 acre-feet (370 x 106m3)

56
