Approval was given to the recommendation that the Chair- <br />man of PSIAC contact the American Water Resources Association and <br />determine the degree of involvement necessary to co-sponsor the <br />Fifteenth AWRA Conference and Symposium scheduled for September 24- <br />28, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Based on his findings, the Chairman <br />was authorized to decide whether or not PSIAC should become involved. <br /> <br />C. Approval was given to the recommendation that brief summary- <br />type minutes of the PSIAC meetings be prepared instead of 'lengthy <br />verbatim minutes. <br /> <br />D. Approval was given to the recommendation that the State <br />and Federal members assess their Capability to assume the Chair- <br />manship of the PSIAC or the Executive Subcommittee for the upcoming <br />fiscal year to permit smooth transition at the 79-2 meeting. The <br />Chairman will formally ask Arizona to ~ccept Chairmanship of PSIAC <br />for the forthcoming year. In the event of a negative response, the <br />Chairman will ask the remaining States in the order of succession. <br /> <br />5. Report on Water Resources Council Activities <br />and Implementation of National Water Policy <br /> <br />Chairman Neblett introduced Mr. Richard Vannoy, Assistant Director <br />for Operations, Water Resources Council. A draft of the wac Status <br />Report is in PART C-3 ATTACHMENTS and a summary of Mr. Vannoy's <br />remarks is in PART C-4 ATTACHMENTS. <br /> <br />6. Technical Subcommittee Reports <br /> <br />Water and Vegetation Management Technical Subcommittee <br /> <br />Mr. Richard F. Sanders, Chairman, reported on the meeting held the <br />previous day, April 10, 1979. A copy of the minutes of that meeting <br />is included in PART C-5 ATTACHMENTS. <br /> <br />Environmental and Recreation Technical Subcommittee <br /> <br />The subcommittee will meet at St. George, Utah, April 26-27, 1979, <br />for discussion of the salinity control project at La Verkin Springs, <br />the Rare and Endangered Species Act, and state of the art for instream <br />flows. <br /> <br />7. Consortium of Water Institutssand Centers Report <br /> <br />Professor Sol D. Resnick's report is incorporated in the Executive <br />Subcommittee's report. <br /> <br />8.
