The Angus prOject
~~uld include storage for irrigating lands 1n the Little Blue Valley, but
irrigation would be deferred and its ~edlate prlm~ry purpose would be
for flood control along the Littl~ Blue and Big n:ue Rivers and alone thli::
Kansas River when operated in conjunction ~ith Tuttle Creek Reservoir.

(2) The Bureau has also completed a reconnaissance report
of the entire Big Blue River basin. This report outlines a plan for
development which would include a system of four reservoirs, each of
which ~ould provide for irrigation. flood control, and recreation and
fish ~d wildlife. The studies did not include an inventory of needs
outside the basin for water supply or ~ater quality control which might
be satisfied by providing conservation storaee in the proposed reservoirs.

e. The Soil Cor.servation Service, Lincoln, ~ebrnska, has cco-
pleted work plans for 10 \/atersheds in the Big Dlue River basin in
~:ebraska. A preliminary investigation
covering tbe Big Blue River in ::ebra:;ka, \lith a view to detennining the
extent of additional watershed development necessary to realize the
full utilization of the soil and water resources, is in progress. The
extent of watershed development 1n the B1g Blue Basin in Kansas is con-
siderably less than that of Nebraska. There is one completed pilot
project, the Snipe Creek \oIatershcd in l!arst:all County. tJork plans haOle
been co~pleted for the Upper Black Vermillion, ~orth Black Vermillion,
and Irish Creek Uatersheds in !larshall, j:emaha, and Potta\..'lltornie
counties, immediately upstream from the ~utt:e Creek Reservoir.

f.
