Above average discharges frOlll the reservoir3 will continue for the

remainder of the year to make room for nen year's expected inflows.
September power generation was l464l11illion kilowatt hours as flows

through the power turbines were kept at maximum levels. This was an

all-time record for that month.

Fort Randall and Gavins Point releases will be near the present
level of 61,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) throughout October. Releases

at these projects will be reduced temporarily if downstream rains threaten

to cause the river to exceed flood stage. Lewis and Clark Iake will be

held near elevation 1208 feet above mean sea level. Iake Francis Case,

behind Fort Randall Dam, will continue to lower graduaJ.4r and be near

elevation 1343 by the end of October.

Releases at Oahe will be near full power plant capacity of 54-

55,000 cfs and Big Bend discharges will vary to best serve power loads.
Iake Oshe will be near elevation 1610 at month's end, while Iake Sharpe

will fluctuate about elevation 1420 mal.

nows froIlI Garrison Dam will be near maximum power plant capacity

of 38,000 cfs the first half' of October, but will be reduced to 30,000

cfs the l.a8t half of the month when one of the power un1 ts will undergo

scheduled maintenance.
