The plans emphasized con-

tinued operations toward evacuating stored flood waters by next spring's

flood season. If the stored flood waters are not fully evacuated by

1 March 1976, operations during the spring period will be designed to

return storage' to more desireable levels by the June-July mountain

snowmelt period. It is corrte~plated that full-service releases or better

will be provided for power and navigation in 1976 under all conditions

of water supply. Under normal or below water supply conditions in 1976,

releases from all projects will be fully utilized for power production.

Some spills by power plants will be necessary if inflows are Significantly

above normal. The available power capacity will continue to be used as

effectively as possible to reduce the use of oil-fired generation to the

maximum extent practicable. This oil-savings program has generally

resulted in savings of about 2 million barrels of oil per year.

Colonel Harry F. Mumma, Missouri River Division Engineer for the

Corps of Engineers, announced that the Corps will adopt the Committee's

recommendations for operation of the main stem reservoirs during the

coming year.

The next meeting of the Coordinating Committee is scheduled for

April 22, 1976, in Omaha.

-- blORE --

~~:;0~i

'-'.:::h.<'
:-:.-::.;
;,i~ir
~{\~A
:'->~-.::.:;;
~f}~~
......,:.:~~

I
~~~
~~~~
f,'f]'i.{
I
I
~-'}.~~
~jf1>:
~h~"'~
I

.:~..,;:.,--':;
:;~:/-~;~~.
~}.:~;::;::.
Pf~~::.i.

~{~~~

:-'::.:*--'.;

.".'--'-
(;-;I~:
;~?t)
:;;.>::~
1;~_~
<:~'. -.'
~{~r>:
:>f;0~;S:.~.~.~.:.-~.i~'.;;.~..,.t...'.:.:..~.~.;~.{;~l~~~~5~~~;;.:S~f...~.';~::~:~~~!:3.;~.~.;..'.".~.~~[,'..~...'...;,;.'.:~'.~...'...,~..-".~.'.;._;.:...-..:.;.::.,..::.~.:."~.'.~_.:....'..,',.'.'.~~.:.....:~.'.;,...,.:;...;...::.......t.:;:~.~.;.'..'.:.....;~~.-:: ~t." ~:~ :;::"'3 ~<:,:...:? ~:} t:~9 ,:: .. ,,": - ~ - .
