The permanent Work Group, under the <br /> <br />authority of the Forum, is charged with making the <br /> <br />necessary studies, providing technical advice, and keeping <br /> <br />current with events and changes which will enable the Forum <br /> <br />to make decisions on matters concerning the numeric <br /> <br />criteria and the plan of implementation. <br /> <br />Since the <br /> <br />establishment of salinity standards in 1975, the Forum has <br /> <br />conducted four triennial reviews in: 1978, 1981, 1984, and <br /> <br />1987. <br /> <br />Since the last annual Advisory Council report ~as <br /> <br />s~bmitted, the Advisory Council met on October 27, 1987, in <br /> <br />Tucson, Arizona. At that meeting, the Council received <br /> <br />status reports from the federal agencies involved in <br /> <br />salinity control. <br /> <br />Council Comments and Recommendations <br /> <br />The reports, "1987 Joint Evaluation of Salinity <br /> <br />Control Programs," December 1987, by the Bureau of <br /> <br />Reclamation and the Department of Agriculture, and "1987 <br /> <br />Review Report - Water Quality Standards for Salinity - <br /> <br />Colorado River System," ~ay 1987, by the Colorado River <br /> <br />Basin Salinity Control Forum. describe the individual <br /> <br />salinity control projects and their status.
