A location map would
~efinitely be useful. as would more background information on tne saline
flows to be collected (the BLM 197B-79 Status Report indicates en page 20
that springs at the mouth of Sinbad Valley are the prinCipal contrib~tor
of salt. The ephemeral runoff from the watershed I assume will be
permitted to flow in the channel past the collection system.)

, Because this is a point source structural salinity control project,
I feel that the BLM reco~~endation to transfer design and construction of
the project to the USBR is logical and supportable. I would recommend
that the Forum take a position on this proposal at their next meeting.

Boyd Christensen of the Utah State office of the BLM has g'~en me a
copy of a SLM report released ~ay 1982 titled .Salinity Control
Projects: Eastern Utah,. I think this report should be distributed to
the work Group members for review and possible comment.

Sincerely,

/n

Barry C.
