<br />9,410 acre-feet will be active conservation storage for regulating <br />the irrigation water supply, 2,240 acre-feet will be allocated for <br />a minimum operating pool, and 350 acre-feet will be allocated for <br />sediment reserve. The conservation pool water surface level of <br />Indian Camp Reservoir will extend 1.6 miles upstream and will <br />cover an area of about 260 acres. The reservoir is entirely <br />within the Carson National Forest; and, except for some acreages <br />in the Lavender-Farrell subdivision and the Fort Burgwin Research <br />Center tract, all lands are federally owned. Other irrigation <br />facilities to be constructed are a diversion dam 1 mile downstream <br />from the Indian Camp damsite and the concrete-lined Indian Camp <br />and La Serna canals. <br /> <br />The Indian Camp canal will extend from tho cliversion dam on Rio <br />Grande del Rancho to Rio Fernando de Taos and wi 11 serve water to <br />La Serna canal, Rio Chiquito ditch system, and Rio Fernando de <br />Taos ditch sYstem. It will directly serve 564 acres of new <br />lands between Talpa and Canon. La Serna canal, taking off from <br />the Indian Camp canal approximately 1 mile downstream from the <br />diversion dam, will serve 727 acres of new land located south <br />of the Rio Grande del Rancho. The existing irrigation systems <br />will be utili~ed to distribute water to presently irrigated lands <br />and some new lands. The Rio Grande del Rancho system will serve <br />2,267 acres of presently irrigated land.
