Bureau of Reclamation

.

RED RIVER BASIN ABOVE DENISON DAM

39, Cache Creek Project, OK (Inactive)

STATUS: Since the existing water supplies of the Cache Creek basin are pro-
jected to be adequate beyond the year 2020, the decision was made not to
complete the entire feasibility investigation at this time but to present the
findings in the form of a concluding report. A concluding report was released .
September 1979.

DESCRIPTION: Feasibility investigations to formulate plans to develop the water
resources of the Cache Creek basin to meet the anticipated future water needs of
the study area, primarily for M&I water supplies. Irrigation, flood control,
recreation, and fish and wildlife were considered as project purposes.

40, West Texas-Eastern New Mexico Import Project, TX-NM (Inactive) (See
Cimarron and Canadian River Basins)

54, Western U.S. Water Plan (Inactive) (See Arkansas River Basin Above
Keystone Dam)

55, Criner Hills Project, OK (Inactive)

STATUS: Results of an appraisal study (report released June 1976) of the
Criner Hills Project concluded that there is no need for additional M&I water .
for 25 years, unless some unforeseen development occurs, and that the high cost
of providing irrigation water to scattered tracts of irrigable land results in
an unfavorable benefit-cost ratio. Therefore, further studies are not warranted
at this time.

DES€RIPTION: Appraisal study to evaluate potential water resources for M&I and
irrigation purposes in Carter, Gavin, Jefferson, Love, Murray, and Stephens
Counties, Oklahoma.

59, Western Energy Expansion Study (Inactive) (See Arkansas River Basin
Above Keystone Dam)

.

.

144
