The gates were opened <br />at 8:00 A.M, on April 1, 1905 to release 1.000 d,s, on demand of <br />Colorado and K;\!1sas. The rcservoir W35 deebred empty on April 3, <br />1965 at 9:00 A.M. and aumll1istration of tnc river was returned to the <br />Colorado State Engineer at that timc. <br /> <br />River flow nnly was administered until 12:45 A.M. on June 14, <br />1965, whcn it ;lpreareJ th;lt the river flow \Vas sufficient to begin <br />storage and thc ga.tes wac dosed. They were opened at 5 :00 P.M. on <br />that same day to rdease 400 c.f.s. demand by Colorrtdo. On June 15. <br />1965 the demand w;:ts incfI:'ased to 1,000 c.f.s. - 600 c.f.s. by Colorado <br />;md 400 d,s, hy Kans"" On June 16, 1965 at 8:30 A.M, Colorado cut <br />its dcm;lIld to 500 c.f.s. ;md releases were therefore cut to 900 c.f.s.; <br />on June 17, 1965, hCrtvy rrtins caused f1ocx1s throughout the Arkansas <br />Basin and the gates were dosed at 7 :30 A.M. Storage continued from <br />that time until 8:30 A.M, on July 6. 1965, when Colorado demanded <br />200 cJ,s, release, The demand was cancclleJ at ] :00 P,M, on July 8, <br />1965, since the demand was heing met by flood water released on order <br />of the U, S, C(,rps of Engineers, On July 13th, flood water releases <br />were discontinued anel Colorado dem:l.llded release of 300 c.f.s. from <br />conservation storage at 4 :00 P.M. K;:tns<1s dcmancls stClrtcd on July 15th <br />at 8 :00 A.M. for 500 c.rs. Colorado's demands were for 550 c.f.s. at <br />this time making a total rclease of 1050 c.f.s. Demands varied frequently <br />until August 21, 1963, at 10:30 P.M. when the demand was cancelled <br />and irrigation requirements were being mct hy flooJ water releases <br />ordered by the U. S.
