Prior to reaching the water depletion checkpoint of 60,000 acre-feet referenced in the <br />biological opinion, but no later than 2015, the Recovery Program Director's office or the Fish <br />and Wildlife Service will prepare a report describing fish population status and trends based on <br />the population indices and other factors. The report will be reviewed by the Biology and <br />Management Committees prior to fma1ization. Based on this report, the Service will determine <br />whether continuing the water depletion limit established in the biological opinion is biologically <br />justified. The Service's rationale and conclusions will be documented in a report to the <br />Biology, Management, and hnplementation Committees. If necessary, the Service would <br />amend the biological opinion, as appropriate. <br /> <br />~: This approach assumes that existing Recovery Program committees will continue to function <br />through 2015. <br /> <br />8 <br />
