<br />. <br /> <br />Authorizing legislation for this project has been intro- <br /> <br />duced in both Houses of Congress. The project is unanimously sup- <br /> <br />ported by the entire Congressional delegation of the state of Colorado. <br /> <br />Field hearings were held on this project by the Irrigation and Recla- <br /> <br />mation Subcommittee of the House Committee on Interior and Insular <br /> <br />Affairs in Crawford, Colorado, on April 19, 1963. It is anticipated <br /> <br />that further hearings will be held in Washington in the very near <br /> <br />future. <br /> <br />The feasibility grade investigation of this project has <br /> <br />been completed by the Department of the Interior and a copy of the <br /> <br />report transmitted to the Honorable John W. McCormack. Speaker of the <br /> <br />House of Representatives. The report was referred to the Committee <br /> <br />on Interior and Insular Affairs. <br /> <br />The estimated annual economic benefits for the Fruitland <br /> <br />Mesa Project would total $2.158.200 over the one-hundred year period <br /> <br />of analysis at 2.5 percent interest.
