PRIORITY OBJECTIVE I: ,AIR QUALITY <br />"" <br />00 <br />~ To provide ambient air quality in Colorado that fosters and promotes the <br />health, welfare, convenience, and comfort of the citizens of Colorado and <br />which facilitates the enjoyment of the State's scenic and natural resources. <br /> <br />Five Yea'r Goals <br /> <br />Health & Welfare Related Goals <br /> <br />1. To reduce population exposure to unhealthful levels of carbon monoxide <br />from 420,000 person days (1984 est.) to zero person days statewide by <br />December 31, 1987 and to maintain this level through June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />2. To reduce amount of sq. mile days of exposure from unhealthful levels of <br />ozone from 270 sq. mile days (1980 estimate) to zero sq. mile days <br />statewide by December 31, 1987 and to maintain this level through June 30, <br />1989. <br /> <br />3. To reduce population exposure from unhealthful levels of particulates from <br />70 sq. mile violation days to zero person days by December 31, 1987 and to <br />maintain this level through June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />4. To maintain ambient levels of nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and lead <br />below health standards ~hrough June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />5. To reduce population exposure from hazardous and toxic air pollutants t~ <br />zero person days through June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />6. To prevent deterioration of air quality in attainment and pristine areas <br />through June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />7. To reduce urban haze caused by man-made pollutants by 5% by June 30, 1989. <br /> <br />-24- <br />
