The concrete section contains two lB-inch river outlets, <br />an overflow splUvay, and heoo'W'orks for the Olympus Siphon. Tho <br />dam has a maximum height of 60 feet, an over-all. crest length of <br />1,880 feet, and a volume of 281,000 cubic yards of' earth and. rock- <br />fill and. 15,000 cubic yards of concrete. The spl11~y has a capac- <br />ity of 22,500 ef's and 1s controlled by five 2O-foot by 17-foot <br />radial gates. The river outlets are controlled by two 2.5-foot by <br />2.5-foot slide gates and the head~rks 1s regulated by two 6.25- <br />foot by B.O-foot fixed-wheel gates. The river outlets and the head- <br />\lorks are shielded by fish screens. <br /> <br />Olympus Siphon, 10.75 feet in diameter and 0.8 male long, leads <br />tram the diversion head yorks to the 1. B-mile Olympus Tunnel and. <br />5.4.mdle Pole Hill Tunnel vhich will carry the water to the Pole <br />Hill PO\o,'er Plant. <br /> <br />Pole Hill Poyer Plant, a single-unit plant with an installed <br />capacity of 33,000 kilovatts and a static head of 840 feet, vill <br />operate on water tram Lake Estes delivered via the Olynpus Siphon <br />and Tunnel and the Pole Hill Tunnel and Canal. <br /> <br />Rattlesnake Dam and Reservoir will provide 1,400 acre-feet of <br />operating capacity for peaking purposes at the Flatiron Power Plant. <br />
