<br />FISCAL YEARS 1983 &1984 PRIORITY OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />~) priority Objective Number 1: Hazardous Wastes Control <br />~ <br /> <br />Administer an interim hazardous waste control program under a cooperative <br />arrangement with EPA and develop an adequate program and regulations to enable full <br />assumption of the hazardous wastes prograDl as soon as possible after July, 1983; <br />and develop response plans and secure state matching appropriations and Federal <br />Superfund assistance for performing corrective measures at the highest priority <br />waste disposal sites. <br /> <br />Priority Objective Number 2: Air Pollution Control <br /> <br />Work towards aChieving ambient air quality standards in non-attainment areas and <br />minimize air quality degradation in clean air areas. <br /> <br />Priority Objective Number 3: Water Pollution Control <br /> <br />Improve performance of drinking water and wastewater treatment systems, begin <br />development of a comprehensive State groundwater quality management program, and <br />improve and maintain water quality and beneficial uses in selected stream segments. <br /> <br />Priority Objective Number 4: Denver Radium Sites <br /> <br />Complete engineering studies and plans, identify appropriate waste disposal <br />locations, obtain state matching appropriations and implement response measures for <br />Denver radium sites receiving Federal Superfund grant assistance. <br /> <br />-22- <br />
