<br />Flnancinq Arranqements <br /> <br />The project would be Jointly financed by the Federal Government under authority of the <br />Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, P.L. 566, as amended, and by local interests <br />using taxing authorities and private funds. <br />During the past several years, a small levy has been in effect and about $/4,200 has been <br />co II ected. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Provisions for Operation and Maintenance <br /> <br />The Gage and Lancaster County Sol I and Water Conservation Districts wi I I review the adequacy <br />of land treatment measures annually and wi I I encourage landowners and operators to perform <br />needed maintenance. Thel Clatonla Creek Watershed Conservancy District wi I I operate and maintain <br />the structural measures. <br /> <br />Loca I I nterest and Support <br /> <br />The land treatment application has been accelerated since the application for assistance <br />was made to the Nebraska Sol I and Water Conservation Commission in 1962. <br /> <br />Existinq Resource Development In the Area <br /> <br />The main existing water resource developments In the area are the projects completed by <br />the Salt Val ley Watershed District. Other watersheds in various stages of development in the <br />area are Little Indian, Dry, Cub, and Upper Salt. <br /> <br />Effect on Water Supply in Proiect Area <br /> <br />The land treatment required for the project and the watershed's eight floodwater retarding <br />structures are expected to greatly reduce the annual production of sediment entering the water- <br />ways. <br /> <br />1-2 <br /> <br />. <br />
