There are four ranches with homes and outbuildings located
in or near the reservoir site, These are in the valley of the White
River, Also located in the valley is Colorado State Highway (CSH) 64,
a pipeline, an electric power transmission line, and a bridge over
the White River on a rural road connecting with U, S. Highway 40 to the
northwest, The latter serves as access to the Reliable Coal Company's
Staley-Gordon Coal Mine which is less than one-half mile from the river
and is at present inoperative, There are several ranch roads in the
proposed site,

About 400 acres of the reservoir site are currently irrigated
cropland and pasture, The croplands are used mostly for the raising
of livestock winter feed such as grass and alfalfa hay.
