The surface area of the reservoir at this elevation
will be about 569 acres. When full, the reservoir will be about
four miles in length and one-quarter mile wide. There will be a
minimum pool dead storage volume of 1,950 acre-feet with a surface
area of 227 acres at elevation 5265 feet msl. The difference in
elevation between the crest of the dam and the top of the radial gates,
or freeboard, will be 8 feet. The reservoir will have a total storage
capacity of 18,350 AF when the water surface is at the design maximum
flood elevation of 5318 feet msl and a maximum surface area of 677 acres.
The dam and spillway will be designed to withstand a moderate hazard
flood which is one-half of the Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP)
event (15),

The spillway will be located near the right abutment of the dam in
the existing channel, It will have three radial gates and will be
designed for a discharge capacity of 60,000 cubic feet per second (cfs)
(15), An alternate provision that may be a feature of the project is a
2,000 kilowatt (KW) hydroelectric power plant with a rated head of 38
feet. Canals, ditches and pipelines required to deliver the water to
the service area are not a part of this initial stage of the project.

Approximately 3,100 lineal feet of Colorado State Highway (CSH) 64
will be required to be relocated. Other local roads in the site of the
proposed reservoir will need to be relocated or abandoned, Allor part
of a pipeline and a transmission line along the White River may also
require relocation,

I-5
