<br />O. ~L CC <br /> <br />SAN JUAN RECOVERY IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHAT WE THINK WE KNOW <br /> <br />Changes in water temperature delay spawning by about 3 weeks and cause it <br />to occur farther downstream which likely impacts survival <br /> <br />Relatively steep river gradient increases larval drift, affects habitat usage and <br />survival <br /> <br />Monsoon storms increase larval drift, reduce food supply and may decrease <br />habitat quality <br /> <br />Stocking of Juvenile are larger fish seems to be somewhat successful <br /> <br />Increased riparian vegetation appears to cause the river to cut down rather than <br />braid as it did historically <br /> <br />Non-native species competition and predation are aconcern and mimicking a <br />natural hydrograph has not caused significant increases in native fish nor <br />decreases in non-natives, In fact, trends are appear exactly the opposite <br /> <br />. . <br />. . <br />Lake Powell is a sink for young endangered fish and a source for non-natives at <br />high elevations <br /> <br />Selenium and Copper concentrations require further research to determine if they <br />cause reproductive problems <br />
