<br />N~w generating units under construction will not
<br />significantly affect the situation. Table 8 lists the
<br />facili~ies nearing completion in the drought affected
<br />areas which will affect the overall generating capacity
<br />during the summer of 1977. The major plant delay in
<br />the entire drought area is PG&E's Diablo Canyon nuclear
<br />uni t. ,The problems associated wi th the seismic studies
<br />of the 'area and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
<br />licensiing are unresolved at this time. The two Huntington
<br />Canyon units (Utah Power and Light Company) of 400 and
<br />415 MW are both expected to be on line this summer.
<br />(Unit #2 (400 MW) has been down due to a forced outage.)
<br />The BuRec has contracts with Utah Power & Light Company
<br />to purchase all excess power from the Huntington Canyon
<br />units, which will be used to displace Colorado River hydro
<br />generation to meet firm load and save the impounded water
<br />
