Recent decisions of the <br /> <br />the United States. <br /> <br />Four major interconnections exist in the WSCC area, <br /> <br />connecting utilities in the State of Washington and the <br />province of Brltish Columbia. The involved Canadian <br />utilities are british Columbia Hydroelectric Authority and <br />the West Kootepay Power and Light Company. BPA operates the <br />U.S. terminals of these interconnections. Two 500 KV and <br />two 230 KV lin~s comprise these international tie lines. <br />In 1975, 2,831'GWh was transmitted to the U.S. via these <br />lines and 1,139 GWh moved to Canada. Authorized annual <br />transfer to th~ U.S. is 4,925 GWh firm and 3,400 GWh <br /> <br />interruptible. <br />Bulk power system network factors limit the power <br />transfer capability of these four lines to a total of <br /> <br />~: <br /> <br /> <br />~~~1t <br /> <br />1,500 MW. Many' factors are involved in determining the <br /> <br /> <br />capability available at a specific time, and actual energy <br />flows depend significantly on hydroelectric conditions <br />in British Columbia.
