SOUTHEAST KANSAS WATER SUPPLY COOPERATIVE SIDDY, KS <br />STATUS: The Southeast Kansas Water Supply Preliminary Investigation was com- <br />pleted and a report prepared in 1980. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose and use of this report will be in water supply <br />planning and informational functions of the Kansas Water Resources Board. <br />The report will be useful in planning multiple purpose developments under <br />Public Law 566 and RC&D federal programs. The report can also be used as a <br />guide by local communities, other agencies. and water resource consultants <br />in development of projects for watershed districts, counties, rural water <br />districts, and municipalities~ The domestic water needs of rural areas and <br />small towns in 22 counties were defined in this preliminary investigation. <br />Small reservoirs with potential to satisfy needs were identified and com- <br />parison made with other sources including existing large reservoirs and <br />ground water. Logical service areas were identified and alternative water <br />treatment and distribution systems formulated for each regional area.
