CONSTRUCTED PROJECTS AND PLANNING ACTIVITIES
OF
THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS,
THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE AND THE STATES

FOREWORD

The attached report has been compiled by the Standing Committee on
Exchange of Program Information to assist the AWRBIAC in reviewing the
planning acti vi ties of the three construction agencies and the states.
The planning activities are presented on a watershed basis, using the
original AWR Basin segment breakdown:

Arkansas River Basin above Keystone Dam

Cimarron and Canadian River Basins

Arkansas River Basin below Keystone Dam

White River Basin

Red River Basin above Denison Dam

Red River Basin below Denison Dam

In each of these basin segments, information is arranged in the following
order: (1) Bureau of Reclamation (BR), (2) Corps of Engineers (CE), (3)
Soil Conservation Service (SCS), (4) States (TX, LA, etc.), and Other (NF).

The series of maps of individual AWR segments relate directly to the
narrative section of the report and show Basin/Project Studies and con-
structed projects. Projects are shown in contrasting colors for each
construction agency activity.

The Standing Committee believes that this effort represents a true pro-
gram of information exchange. The Committee has not attempted tc evaluate
the effect of one program on another. Each agency has a responsibility
to develop its own program. This consolidated report is designed to
assist each agency, each member of the AWRBIAC Committee, and others with
interests in the sub-basins, to better comprehend the interrelated plan-
ning activities and to recognize areas where further coordination is
desirable. The report is designed in 3-ring binder form to minimize the
expense of periodic updating. It will be reviewed annually by the
Standing Committee and only those pages containing updated data will be
distributed for insertion into the report. It is the current view of the
Standing Committee that the entire report will be reprinted and distribut-
ed every 3-5 years.
