Now

I understand there's been a number of surveys made by the

Corps of Engineers. There has been some markers placed at

different streets, 95 Highway, 6th Avenue, 8th Avenue,

10th Avenue. I just wonder if any of those markers would

indicate any of the second feet; that is, dispersed. If

so, is that available? In other words, would 95 Highway

be within the floodplain between Hobson Way and 6th Avenue

or 2nd Avenue?

PRESIDING OFFICER: Jerry, you want to try

to field that one?

}ffi. GAffi~ER: Well, you caught me on that one,

but I believe those markers that we put out are supposed

to be representative of a hundred (100) year flood. But

on the Colorado River there's been a lot of dispute between

a lot of people for a long time as to exactly what the

hundred year flood is, and those markers generally

represent what has been published throughout the years as

the levee design flood. And in this area_I think we're

calling the levee design flood the fifty thousand (50,000)

cfs, so those markers would probably be just slightly higher

than what we're talking about where damages would start to

begin.

MR.
