Bear Creek Lake Operations Study. A brief discussion of the MCMD water rights which <br /> <br /> <br />are proposed for storage in the lake follows: <br /> <br />Water Riehts <br />MCMD owns two water rights which already have been transferred and decreed for <br />augmentation purposes and for storage in Bear Creek Lake. The Hock-Hocking Mine <br />water right is a decreed non-tributary source near Alma, Colorado. The mine discharges <br />. into Mosquito Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River and is <br />deliverable by gravity to the confluence of the South Platte and Bear Creek. Since the <br />right is nontributary, all water diverted pursuant to the right is fully consumable. <br /> <br />MCMD owns the right to an average annual yield of 0040 cfs of the Hock-Hocking <br />water. In Case No. 83CW280, MCMD obtained a decree which enables the District to use <br />the Hock-Hocking water in a plan for augmentation to support municipal uses. The decree <br />also names Bear Creek Lake as an alternate point of storage for this water right and <br />reserved the right to exchange the Hock-Hocking water from the mouth of Bear Creek to <br />Bear Creek Lake (Priority date of exchange is November 29, 1983).
