Paradox Valley Seismic Network: Observations to Date-October 26, 1994.

1. Seismicity has accompanied all but one of the test periods of injection to date. The magnitude
and number of earthquakes associated with injection has increased with continued injection.
(Total number of events thus far is -225 with the largest having a magnitude of 2.6).

2. The migration of fluid from the well has diffused to the south and vertically downward
with each susequent injection period.

3. The trend and general location of the seismicity is consistent with failure on faults previously
inferred to exist in the target Leadville Formation from seismic reflection data.

4. A preliminary stress analysis suggests bottom hole pressures may be sufficient to cause failure
on intact rock with strengths as high as 140 bars as well as favorably oriented existing fractures.

5. Fault plane solutions for some events suggest fracturing sub-parallel to the NW-SE trend of
earthquakes. The largest event thus far however, suggests a different oreintation of potential fault
planes. This could suggest failure on planes with conjugate orientations may also begin to occur.

6.

001754
