The CRDSS-CU model runs on a PC in DOS from the
command lille. The CRDSS-CU GUI does not currently run on a PC nor \Vas it
developed usillg a portable GUI builder. Rather it was constructed for a workstation to
operate as part of the Visual Data Browser. The CRDSS-CU model has the capability to
estimate consumptive use using either the Modified Blaney Criddle or Penman-Monteith
approach if appropriate data is provided. The CRDSS-CU model is structured to provide
basin wide results. With the enhancements described herein, the CRDSS-CU model will
provide the type of calculations and reports commonly associated with a water transfer
evaluation.

Approach:

25.1. Potential revisions to the program to include the following:

. Separate from the visual data browser.

. Read an ASCII file of acreage values provided by an ArcView query.

. Separate the different data needs associated with the Modified Blaney
Criddle and Penman-Monteith.

. Include a response file which allows the user to direct input from files with
different names or directories similar to StateMod.

. Include a log file which documents key assumptions such as when a
default crop mix or climate station is assigned.

. Include logic which provides the functionality required for a water transfer
evaluation.

. Allow time series data to be provided in a matrix (StateMod) format.

c: I wlcrd sslscopelph III blscope. doc

21\ 9/97 - 65
