ljMI)

Environmental Compliance

Compliance with federal and State environmental laws will be
necessary prior to acquisition and/or restoration of sites. An
assessment will be needed to cover NEPA, 404 permits, water rights,
water quality regulations, Section 7, floodplain regulations, etc.

VII.

Task Description
Site Selection

1.

Selections will be made initially from the list of ranked sites.
2. Site Screening

Sites will be screened for contaminants and willingness of
landowners to cooperate. For sites where no major problems are
identified, or where problems are resolvable, permission will be
asked of landowners to restore and evaluate the site.

3. Site Design and Restoration

Site design and restoration will be based on input from
hydrologists, geomorphologists, and biologists. Environmental
compliance will need to be completed prior to restoration.

4. Evaluation of Results

Sites will be evaluated to determine if razorback larvae can drift
into the site, survive and grow within the site, and leave the site
over the desired range of flows. A basin-wide evaluation program
will monitor species' and system response to restoration activities.

VII I. Study Schedule
1. Site selection FY 94-96
2.
