INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />A. Authorization <br /> <br />The work on the Feasibility Study for Cherry Creek Basin Drainageway was <br />authorized by contract between the Cherry Creek Basin Technical Advisory <br />Committee/Bill L. Walters Companies (herein called the Technical Advisory <br />Committee - TAC) and the joint venture firms of BRW, Inc. and WRC Engineering, <br />Inc. (herein called CONSULTANT), dated August 24, 1984. Work commenced on the <br />project on August 7, 1984 when the ava i I ab leba sic data for the project was <br />transmitted to the CONSULTANT by Greiner Engineering Sciences, Inc. <br /> <br />B. Purpose and SCope <br /> <br />The purpose of the feasibility study was to identify improvement options <br />for Cherry Creek within the project area. These options were then combined to <br />formulate an overall drainage plan for Cherry Creek and its floodplains. The <br />objectives of the plan were as follows: <br /> <br />Maximize land use <br />Minimize the cost of stream improvements <br />Satisfy the concerns of regulatory agencies <br />Minimize the risks of upstream and downstream problems <br /> <br />The scope of services was defined in detail by the contract. The project <br />a rea wa s defi ned as the port i on of Cherry Creek from Arapahoe Road to the <br />Douglas County Line between Jordan Road and Parker Road. A summary of the work <br />items is presented below: <br /> <br />1. Data collection and project coordination. <br /> <br />2. Contact interested parties and Jurisdictional agencies. <br /> <br />3. Review and utilize appropriate governmental criteria. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
