Presently, an Interagency Standardized Monitoring <br />Program is used to monitor Colorado squawfish and humpback chub in the Upper <br />Basin, This monitoring program also collects information on nonnative fishes. <br />Another monitoring program is being developed for the razorback sucker that <br />will also collect information on the distribution and relative abundance of <br />nonnative fishes. <br /> <br />CONCLUSION OF THE REVIEW TEAM <br />RELATED TO <br />THE STOCKING OF NONNATIVE FISHES <br />IN THE <br />50-YEAR FLOODPLAIN OF THE UPPER COLORADO RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />The Review Team was in general agreement with the findings of the independent <br />biologists (See concise summary on Page 4 or the entire report). The proposed <br />conditions for stocking in the 50-year floodplain have been incorporated into <br />the draft Procedures that will be mailed out for public review with a copy of <br />the independent biologists' report, a copy of this report, and the schedule <br />for completion of the Procedures, Five public meetings will be held as <br />scoping meetings in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. All <br />public comments (written and orally at the scoping meetings) will be <br />considered in preparing the final Procedures and writing of an Environmental <br />Assessment. The Procedures and final Environmental Assessment will be used in <br />the Section 7 consultation under the Endangered Species Act. <br /> <br />6 <br />
