C:J

I ;.

" .~~)

GunniSon River
Ohio Creek
Tomichi Creek
Quartz Creek

Blue Creek
little Cimarron Creek
Cow Creek
Beaver Creek (in Taylor Park)

QO
(,Q
00

Whitewater rafting activities have also reportedly been adversely affected
at times by flow deficiencies. The Taylor River above Almont and the lake Fork
of the Gunnison were noted as being adversely impacted while the Gunnison River
is rarely too low for rafting.

Ohio Creek, Mill Creek, East River, Tomichi Creek and Cochetopa Creek were
all noted to suffer from late season flow deficiencies for irrigation water
supply.

Although potential future deficiencies of M&I water were noted for several
municipalities, present supplies appear adequate. The deficiencies noted are
related to facilities and not supply.

Flooding of agricultural land takes place fairly often, however, the
resulting damages are not considered great. Serious flooding does occur
periodically, however.. The latest serious damage occurred in the spring of
1984. Tomichi Creek, Quartz Creek, Cochetopa Creek, East River, Gunnison River
and the Uncompahgre River all experienced severe bank erosion during that
flood. Roads and bridges were washed out on many streams in the 1984 flood.

-8-
