Depletion is the quantity of water <br />consumed by a given use. <br />Water withdrawal requirements are projected to increase by about 2.6 million <br />acre feet annually between 1965 and 2020. (Illustration 13.) These requirements can <br />be met but only by decreasing the flows to Great Salt Lake, Pyramid and Walker <br />Lakes. <br />The greatest water use in the region will continue to be for irrigation. The largest <br />increase in use, however, will be for municipal and industrial purposes.
