However, there has <br />been some difficulty in resolving problems in measuring delivered <br />irrigation water, Flow metering devices have failed to function <br />effectively, Corrective action is to replace flow meters with <br />parsha 11 fl urnes. <br /> <br />Ferron Recreation Project <br />Ferron Recreation Project is waiting on final FA approval. <br /> <br />WATERSHED OPERATIONS <br /> <br />Elko Watershed Structure Inspection <br /> <br />A detailed inspection of the three flood control dams in the Elko <br />Watershed Project near Elko, NV, has been completed. The inspection <br />was conducted jointly by the SCS, Nevada Division of Water Resources <br />(State Engineer's Office) and the City of Elko. The structures, <br />which were constructed about 1970, were found to be in good condition <br />and functioning as designed, with the exception of sediment in the <br />conduit on one structure. This inspection was a fOllow-up of the <br />inspection by the Corps of Engineers in 1978 (and will be repeated <br />at 5-year intervals, as required by SCS policy). The City of Elko <br />and SCS will conduct less intensive inspections on an annual basis. <br /> <br />Upper North Laramie Watershed <br /> <br />Construction of the multi-purpose floodwater retarding/irrigation/ <br />recreation reservoir will be completed yet this fall. The instal- <br />lation of the basic recreation facilities are also expected to be <br />built this fall. Improvement of the fisheries in the watershed <br />above the structure will be accomplished by a fish-kill/restocking <br />program to begin this fall and completed in the spring of 1985 in <br />cooperation with the Wyoming Fish & Game Department. <br /> <br />Douglas Watershed <br /> <br />Field survey work and construction plans are being developed for <br />this watershed project planned to prevent flooding currently being <br />experienced by the Town of Douglas. It is anticipated that con- <br />struction will begin on this project in the fall of 1985. <br /> <br />EMERGENCY WATERSHED PROTECTION PROGRAM <br /> <br />UTAH: For the second year in a row, Utah was hit with record snowmelt runoff <br />which caused damage in the northern and central part of the state. <br />Requests for EWP assi stance will exceed $3 mill i on, <br /> <br />1)-- 11 <br />
