<br />UU000U <br /> <br />Eagletail 'Watershed <br /> <br />Local interests will construct flood prevention measures in conjunction <br />with a canal to distribute CAP water, Studies are underway to determine <br />the feasibility of changing the project purpose to irrigation water <br />conservation. <br /> <br />Yuma Mesa Watershed <br /> <br />A preauthorization report was completed, planning was authorized in <br />FY-84, and planning is in progress. This watershed is being planned <br />jointly by Arizona and WNTC planning staffs. <br /> <br />Buckhorn-Mesa Watershed <br /> <br />The Signal Butte Floodway is under construction with completion <br />scheduled for September 1984. <br /> <br />Design of Pass Mountain Diversion has been completed, <br /> <br />Design of Signal Butte FRS is still in the final phase. <br /> <br />The selection process is underway for an A&E landscape design contract <br />for the Signal Butte Floodway and FRS and the Pass Mountain Diversion. <br /> <br />A draft A&E design contract for the combined Bulldog Floodway and <br />Apache Junction FRS has been prepared. <br /> <br />A request from the project sponsors to extend the RWCD Floodway <br />Reach 6 by 1500 feet has been received. <br /> <br />Problems in operation of the pump and irrigation system have prompted <br />sponsors to request consideration of stopping irri,gation of the Spook <br />Hill FRS. <br /> <br />Williams-Chandler Watershed <br /> <br />The invitation for bids is out for RWCD Floodway Reach 3.' Bids are <br />to be opened August 8, 1984. <br /> <br />RWCD Floodway Reach 4 designs are underway by our Portland WNTC office. <br /> <br />A draft A&E design contract for the combined RWCD Floodway Reaches 5 <br />and 6 has been prepared. ' <br /> <br />An agreement with MCFD for construction of the SPRR mainline bridge <br />was signed September 1983. Local storms damaging railroad lines have <br />prevented SPRR from beginning .construction operations. <br /> <br />The first phase of a special embankment cracking study wherein four <br />test cells were filled with water, monitored for seepage and excavated <br />for evidence has been completed.
