<br />F. Stockton Creek Watershed Area'Study <br /> <br />A field review and meeting with local sponsors was made in <br />April 1984. Primary concerns are erosion and the resulting <br />sedimentation of a downstream domestic water supply reservoir. <br />The project does not appear to be economically justified for <br />implementation under the PL-566 program. A Field Review Report <br />summarizing our findings and recommendations for local action <br />will be prepared, <br /> <br />G. Sand Creek Watershed Area Study <br /> <br />A field review of the project area was made with the local <br />sponsors in April 1984. Upland erosion of orchards and vineyards <br />and flooding of the lower lying agricultural lands are the primary <br />concerns, The project has strong possibilities for a PL~566 pro~ <br />ject and a Detailed Work Outline will be prepared by September <br />1984. <br /> <br />Fl oOdp I a in' Mana~elllent . Studies' (FPMS) <br /> <br />u~per Penitencia Creek FPMS was initiated in January 1984. The <br />s udy 1S being conducted at a .level of intensity equal to pre- <br />authorization planning. If the project proves feasible, the <br />sponsors will request that the project proceed to work plan <br />development. <br /> <br />San Vicente Creek FPMS is scheduled to begin in October, Request <br />for approval of the Plan of Work (POW) and release of funds held <br />in reserve by National Headquarters was submitted in August. <br /> <br />C. Mint Canyon FPMS is scheduled to begin in January 1985, Approval <br />of the POW and, release of funds has also been requested. <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />8, <br /> <br />RADO: Cooperative Studies. <br /> <br />Cooperative river basin reports have been completed for all basins in <br />the Colorado River drainage. <br /> <br />Dolores Project Area <br /> <br />A special study to identify conservation treatment needs on 28,000 <br />acres being converted from dry land agriculture to irrigated cropland, <br />as a result, the Dolores Project will be carried out in FY-85. <br />Irrigation types, cropping systems and erosion control practices will <br />be the major items studied. <br /> <br />Mancos Valley <br /> <br />The planning for this unit has been completed.
