F. Stockton Creek Watershed Area'Study A field review and meeting with local sponsors was made in April 1984. Primary concerns are erosion and the resulting sedimentation of a downstream domestic water supply reservoir. The project does not appear to be economically justified for implementation under the PL-566 program. A Field Review Report summarizing our findings and recommendations for local action will be prepared, G. Sand Creek Watershed Area Study A field review of the project area was made with the local sponsors in April 1984. Upland erosion of orchards and vineyards and flooding of the lower lying agricultural lands are the primary concerns, The project has strong possibilities for a PL~566 pro~ ject and a Detailed Work Outline will be prepared by September 1984. Fl oOdp I a in' Mana~elllent . Studies' (FPMS) u~per Penitencia Creek FPMS was initiated in January 1984. The s udy 1S being conducted at a .level of intensity equal to pre- authorization planning. If the project proves feasible, the sponsors will request that the project proceed to work plan development. San Vicente Creek FPMS is scheduled to begin in October, Request for approval of the Plan of Work (POW) and release of funds held in reserve by National Headquarters was submitted in August. C. Mint Canyon FPMS is scheduled to begin in January 1985, Approval of the POW and, release of funds has also been requested. A. 8, RADO: Cooperative Studies. Cooperative river basin reports have been completed for all basins in the Colorado River drainage. Dolores Project Area A special study to identify conservation treatment needs on 28,000 acres being converted from dry land agriculture to irrigated cropland, as a result, the Dolores Project will be carried out in FY-85. Irrigation types, cropping systems and erosion control practices will be the major items studied. Mancos Valley The planning for this unit has been completed. The USDA Report is being prepared. D'-4
