<br />o <br />" <br /> <br />~ <br />c <br />c <br />~ <br /> <br />CHAPTER IV <br /> <br />~VALUATIOHS OF ACCOHPLISH~ENTS <br /> <br />The Arkansas-White-Red Basins Interagency Committee <br />completed its 33rd year o~ operation. There were two <br />regular meetings during riscal year 1988: October 14-16, <br />1987, and Hay 12-13, 1988. Each .eeting provided <br />opportunity ~or communication and cooperation among the <br />state and ~ederal agency members. Each meeting had several <br />discussions on .ater-related programs being implemented in <br />the basin. The October 1987 meeting ~eatured the theme <br />"Water Quality." It included speakers with varying <br />perspectives on the need ror protection o~ groundwater. The <br />Hay 1988 meeting progra.. on "Navigation and Its IlIlpact On <br />Other Bene~icial Uses" o~~ered discussions on navigation, <br />rlood control, and hydropower recreations among other <br />purposes that are being assessed. <br /> <br />-9- <br />
