<br />003241 <br /> <br />Revolon Watershed <br /> <br />Environmental evaluation of the Mugu Lagoon con- <br />tinued. Fish and wildlife species were sampled <br />on three occasions. The Ventura County Flood <br />Control District prepared 6 alternative layouts <br />for an outlet channel. A study plan for develop- <br />ment of the EIS is being prepared. <br /> <br />Central Sonoma Watershed (Spring Creek EIS) <br /> <br />The sponsors certified completion of the EIS(EIR <br />in January 1981. In February, opponents of the <br />project petitioned the court to order the certifi- <br />cation set aside. In July, the court issued a <br />notice of intended decision in favor of the <br />opponents. The first contract for $500,000 is <br />scheduled to be awarded during the summer of 1981. <br /> <br />Llagas Creek Watershed <br /> <br />Reformulation of the plan was completed. Alter- <br />natives were discussed at public workshops held on <br />May 2 and June 4. Working copies of a new draft <br />EIS were' begun. In some reaches the only additional <br />work will be stabilizing channels that have already <br />been excavated and mitigating wildlife habitat <br />losses that occured when those channels were exca- <br />vated. A finding of no significant impact is being <br />prepared for this part of the work. <br /> <br />Carpinteria Valley Watershed <br /> <br />Work is nearing completion on the Hog Canyon unit <br />of thi s watershed. The next contract - Live F - <br />is scheduled to start in FY-82. Final plans and <br />specifications have been sent to the sponsors. <br />Delays are expected in this sensitive area. <br /> <br />Lower Pine Creek Watershed <br /> <br />A local contract was awarded by the Contra Costa' <br />Flood Control District for $2.4 million to construct <br />the Lower Pine flood control basin. A vegetative <br />and landscape contract is scheduled for award in <br />the fourth quarter of FY-81. <br /> <br />Santa Ynez Flood Pretection Project - (PL-534) <br /> <br />Work is continuing on second contract on the San <br />Miguelito sub-watershed for channel improvement. <br />Preparation of flows and specifications are under- <br />way for the third contract, which is scheduled for <br />around the third quarter of FY-81. <br /> <br />-9- <br />
