It w;lS pbccd in operation on ~1arch 26 <br />["riClf to the beginning of diverSIons for the 19'11 season. <br />Since the slim of the records for the stations on the Arkansas RlVlT <br />near Coolidge, Kansas and the new stlttion on Frontier Diteh provide <br />ilCCUrltte measurement of t(;tltl flow crossing the Colorado-Kansas Stltte- <br />line, it was possiblc to discontinue the grnerally unsatisfactory stations <br />nn. Holl~' -Drain- near Holly -ancl-Wild-Horsc-Creck- at-Holly, reeords- <br />from which had previ(Jusly been used in conjunction with that of the <br />Arkansas River at Holly for ddcrmination of Stateline flow. This latter <br />station was not discontinurd, however, since its continuous record of <br />more than 40 years is extremely valuable for flood forecasting and other <br />important purposes. <br />Shortages of electrollic and radio equipment have delayed the com' <br />pletion of the radio btage transmitters, installation of which had been <br />pla.nned for the 195"1 Irrig;ttion season. However, work on the equip- <br />ment is proceeding and installation is now planned for February 19')1. <br />The stations will brmdcilst itt 4-hour intervals on a frequency of 265'2. <br />kilocycles using mltximum antcnna power of 15" watts.
