New canals would include
the Dolan Mesa Canal heading at Sandstone Reservoir and the Pot Hook Canal
heading at Pot Hook Reservoir. New lateral systems would be constructed
from the canals for full irrigation service lands. Drains would be con-
structed as needed.

Some Federal and state land would be acquired to permit enlargement of
existing farm units.

Recreational facilities would be constructed at both Sandstone and Pot Hook
Reservoirs. Dead and inactive storage would be available in both reservoirs
for fishing and recreation, and minimum flows for fish would be maintained
in Savery Creek.

WATER SUPPLY

Irrigation supply (acre-feet)
Effects on Colorado River
Increase in salt load (tons)
Stream depletion (acre-feet)
Increase in salinity concentration
at Imperial Dam (mg/l)
Increase in salt load (O~)

IRRIGATION SERVICE AREA (acres)

44,900

9,950
23,400

3.3
.9

Full service land
Supplemental service land
Total

Wyoming
6,590
10,690
17,280

Colorado
8,080
3,640
11,720

Total
14,670
14,330
29,000

PROJECT FEATURES

Reservoirs
Capacity(acre-feet)
Active
Inactive
Normal water surface(feet)
Surface area(acres)

Pot Hook
60,000
26,000
34,000
6,688
1,037

Sandstone (Preliminary
15,500
14,000
1,500.
6,837
Ii .
K. .

data)

.s~c.
