<br /> <br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />March 1997 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of March was computed <br />to be 10420 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 733 AF net San Juan- <br />Chama (SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were 9299 AF of diversions <br />through Azotea Tunnel thi s month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 10393 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron, of which 133 <br />AF was seepage. There was 12554 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron, of which <br />1088 AF was sent to the City of Albuquerque (the City) in Abiquiu as part of <br />their 1997 annual allocation. The other 11466 AF was sent to the Middle Rio <br />Grande Conservancy Di strict (MRGCD) in El Vado. <br /> <br />There was 0.01 inches of precipitation at <br />March (running) average of 1.70 inches. <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Heron Reservoir, which is 1% of the <br />The monthly computations for Heron <br /> <br />From El Vado, 2000 AF was released by MRGCD to their pool in Abiquiu. A total of <br />11466 AF inflow of MRGCD water was sent to their pool in El Vado. <br /> <br />From Abiquiu, a total of 3764 AF was released from the City's pool to the Jemez <br />Sediment pool. A total of 3325 AF of SJ-C water flowed into Abiquiu: 1980 AF of <br />MRGCD water into their own pool: 1345 AF of City 1997 allocated water into the <br />Ci ty pool. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 525 AF. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 10 AF. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
