<br /> <br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />January 1997 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during <br />to be 2800 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. <br />Chama (SJ-() losses, as shown in Table 2. <br />through Azotea Tunnel thi s month. <br /> <br />the month of January was computed <br />There were -650 AF net San Juan- <br />There were 349 AF of diversions <br /> <br />There was a total of 2520 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron, of which 136 <br />AF was seepage. There was 6854 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron, of which <br />the total was sent to the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCO) in El <br />Vado from the City of Albuquerque (the City). <br /> <br />There was 3.27 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 241% of the <br />January (running) average of 1.35 inches. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />From El Vade, 2503 AF was released by MRGCO to pay back the City of Albuquerque <br />(City) in Abiquiu for water borrowed for irrigation. 2000 AF of MRGCO water was <br />released to their pool in Abiquiu and 3908 AF was released for temporary storage <br />in the City pool in Abiquiu. A total of 6854 AF inflow of City water was sent <br />to MRGCO in El Vado. <br /> <br />From Abiquiu, a total of 1584 AF was released from the City pool to the Jemez <br />Sediment pool. A total of 8260 AF of SJ-C water flowed into Abiquiu Reservoir: <br />2723 AF as payback of borrowed water to the City from MRGCO: 5537 AF of MRGCO <br />water stored in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 261 AF. There was no <br />evaporation loss on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San JUan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
