<br /> <br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />July 1997 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of July was computed to <br />be 970 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 1466 AF net San Juan-Chama <br />(SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2. There were 11634 AF of diversions through <br />Azotea Tunnel this month. <br /> <br />There was a total of 899 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron, of which 151 AF <br />was seepage. There were 8119 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron, of which the <br />total was sent to the City of Albuquerque (the City) in Abiquiu which was made <br />up of 1596 AF from Cochiti as payback, and 6523 AF of the City's 1997 allocation. <br /> <br />There was 3.36 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 193% of the <br />July (running) average of 1.74 inches. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3.-' <br /> <br />From El Vado, a tota 1 of 748 AF wa s rel ea sed from the Mi ddl e Ri 0 Grande <br />Conservancy District's (MRGCD) pool as payback to the City in Abiquiu, 97 AF was <br />released from Los Lunas to Otowi (letter date 6/12/97). <br /> <br />From Abiquiu, a total of 11436 AF was released; 185 AF from the City's pool to <br />Otowi (letter 6/23/97), 232 AF from 8ernalillo to Otowi (letter 6/12/97). 1109 <br />AF from Santa Fe to Otowi (letter 6/13/97), 9910 AF was borrowed from the City <br />by MRGCD for irrigation. There was a total of 8214 AF of SJ-C inflow into the <br />City's pool. 7040 AF of City '97 allocation, and 1174 AF of MRGCD water as <br />payback to the City. <br /> <br />Total inflow Into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 1000 AF. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 64 AF. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and <br />evaporation of Rio Grande water In El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in <br />Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
