The remaining portion has been acquired 'by the city of Lakewood for open space and contains the city nursery. The Swift parcel located under the Pioneer Union Ditch consists of a nursery. Accordinq to the Pioneer Union Ditch company records, Mr. Swift sold all his ditch shares to the city of Lakewood. The U. S. Home one half share is asswned to have been used to irrigate land under the Pioneer Union Ditch now developed as the Westgate subdivision located between Wadsworth Blvd. and Estes St., and W. Yale Ave. and Morrison Rd. The U.S. home share was acquired by Lakewood from Witkin Construction Company which acquired the share when they purchased the land now developed as the Westgate subdivision.
