Historic <br />useof Lakewood's shares to the extent docwnented at this time, <br />indicate a use of at least 0.3 acres per share. <br /> <br />The lands historically irrigated by Lakewood's_ Pioneer union and <br />Hodgson Ditch shares have or will be removed from irrigation by <br />these shares as discussed below, <br /> <br />A portion of the McCoy-Jenson parcel located under the pioneer <br />Union Ditch is being developed as a single family residential area. <br />The remaining area has been acquired by the city of Lakewood for <br />open space. <br /> <br />The Runyan-Pomeroy parcel located under the pioneer union Ditch is <br />partially developed as a single family residential area. The <br />remaining portion has been acquired 'by the city of Lakewood for <br />open space and contains the city nursery. <br /> <br />The Swift parcel located under the Pioneer Union Ditch consists of <br />a nursery. Accordinq to the Pioneer Union Ditch company records, <br />Mr. Swift sold all his ditch shares to the city of Lakewood. <br /> <br />The U. S. Home one half share is asswned to have been used to <br />irrigate land under the Pioneer Union Ditch now developed as the <br />Westgate subdivision located between Wadsworth Blvd. and Estes St., <br />and W. Yale Ave. and Morrison Rd. The U.S. home share was acquired <br />by Lakewood from Witkin Construction Company which acquired the <br />share when they purchased the land now developed as the Westgate <br />subdivision. <br /> <br />A proportionate share of the historically irrigated land associated <br />with the Lowe and Copely parcels located under the Hodgson Ditch <br />has been acquired by the city of Lakewood as open space. <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />~ Leonard Rice Consulting WalBl Engineer~ Inc. <br />
