Irriqated Acreaqe

The original statements of claim for the pioneer Union and Hodgson
ditches claimed 1,000 and 200 acres respectively (Appendix Band
Appendix C). These amounts have been confirmed as being reasonable
by examination of aerial photographs (Figure 3). Lakewood's
proportionate share of the acreage in the original statements of
claim would be equivalent to 185 acres under the I;'ioneer Union
Ditch and 16 acres under the Hodgson Ditch.

Information collected from historic use affidavits, warranty deeds,
interviews with previous land owners, and interpretation of 1937
and 1948 aerial photo's was used to corroborate the estimated
number of acres historically irrigated. Based on this information
the amount of irrigated acreage so far documented for Lakewood's
pioneer Union Ditch shares is at least 141 acres and 9 acres for
their Hodgson Ditch shares. Table 7 summarizes for each parcel the
associated number of ditch shares, irrigated acreage, and
information sources.

Locations of the parcels irrigated are shown in Figure 4. The area
weighted distance from the irrigated parcels to Bear Creek is
approximately 1,300 feet, the same as for the golf course. By
following the surface contours from the parcels to Bear Creek the
return flows occur at, and just below the Hodgson Ditch headgate.

The 1,000 irrigable acres stated in the Pioneer Union Ditch
statement of Claim divided by the total number of voting-shares
(80) yields an average of 12.5 acres per voting-share. Previous
pioneer Union Ditch change decrees indicate an average of 13.5
acres per voting-share, as shown by Table 2.. Historic use of
Lakewood's shares to the extent documented at this time, indicate
a use of at least 9.6 acres per voting-share.

The 200 irrigable acres stated in the Hodgson Ditch statement of
Claim divided by the total number of shares (400) yields an average
of 0.5 acres per share.
