The area weighted
distance from the proposed irrigated areas back to Bear Creek is
approximately 1,300 feet. This compares well to historic
conditions as described subsequently.

In operation, the subject water rights will be diverted through the
Pioneer Union ditch headgate. Diversions from Bear Creek will be
measured by the existing 6-foot Parshall flume. Diversions will be
carried in the ditch and released to one or both of the golf course
ponds located below the Pioneer union Ditch. The golf course ponds
will serve as pumping forebays for the subject water rights prior
to being delivered to the golf course sprinkler irrigation system.
The subject rights will be used on a direct flow basis.

There are six ponds currently proposed on the golf course with a
cumulative storage capacity of 60 acre-feet. The supplemental
water supplies discussed above will serve as the source of storage
water for the ponds below the normal operating capacity during the
irrigation season and provide carryover storage through the winter
to prevent drying of the pond clay liners, Accounting for water
diverted and stored will be maintained by Lakewood.

8

~ Leonard Rice Consulting WalBl Engineers.lnc,
